Since it is not long until Christmas, that means that the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Education Foundation, Inc. is in full Beary Merry Christmas Market mode. This year’s Market on Saturday, December 7, will be at LCM High School, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Tickets for the Market are $3 and children under 12 are free. The entrance faces the student parking area on the south side of the building. All of the proceeds go toward competitive grants for educators of LCM schools. These grants provide for enrichment materials or experiences for the students that cannot be funded through the regular school budget.

One of the most popular parts of the Market is back this year. Story Time with Mrs. Claus includes milk and cookies and a Christmas story read by Mrs. Claus. After story time, the children receive a copy of the book that was read and a visit with Santa himself, complete with a photo. All of these tickets are presold. There are four time slots, beginning at 9 a.m., with openings for 25 children each time. These $10 tickets are sold at Mauriceville Elementary and the LCM Administration Office, 6586 FM 1130.

There will be silent auction items from local businesses, organizations, and individuals. There will also be a vendors’ auction. These are items donated by the vendors, and instead of writing bids on a sheet by the item, shoppers buy tickets, put them in the vendor container of their choice, and a ticket is drawn at the end of the day for each of the vendors’ gifts.

There will be lots of shopping for the adults, from popular brand items, to jewelry, holiday decorations,  expanded food choices, wood work, craft items and more.  Home Depot will be there with building projects for kids, Whataburger will have their game trailer and many other activities are planned for our younger visitors.

Vendor booths are $50 and T-shirts are $15 or $17 for 2XL-5XL. Booth deadline is November 23, T-shirt orders are due in November 14.
