Family of four displaced by fire

DEWEYVILLE— A family of four is now displaced after an early morning house fire.

According to Orange County ESD3 Chief M. Manshack, they were notified at 7:48 a.m. by dispatch that South Newton County ESD1 was needing assistance with a structure fire at 210 County Road 4176 in Deweyville.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a two-story structure to be partially involved in flames. The family of four was not injured during the fire and was able to get out.

Mutual aid assistance was provided by Orange County ESD1, 2, 3 and 4, along with West Orange, and Trout Creek Fire Departments.

The home appears to be a total loss.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
