ORANGEFIELD — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears went on the road to topple the Orangefield Bobcats 53-38 at Bobcat Gym Friday night as they maintained their stranglehold on second-place in the District 22-4A race.

Guard Ayson Simmons led the balanced Bears (20-11, 6-1) with 14 points.

Katon Brown chimed in with 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

Caleb Kress paced the Bobcats (9-15,1-6) with 15 points.

Wesley Frillou contributed 14 points and hit four three-pointers. Zach Dischler led the Bobcats with six rebounds.

Orangefield will visit WO-S Tuesday while LC-M welcomes in No,1-ranked Silsbee (24-5, 7-0).
