HOOP ROUNDUP: Bobcats teams net wins

TARKINGTON — The Orangefield Bobcats Bobcats rallied from a 31-30 deficit at the end of the third quarter to snag a tough 51-46 road win over the Tarkington Longhorns Tuesday night.

The Bobcats outscored the Longhorns 21-15 in the decisive fourth quarter.

Alex Catt paced the Orangefield arsenal with 17 points. Payton Lathrop chimed in with 16 points while Zach Dischler added eight.

Dischler also pulled down eight rebounds and added three assists and three steals. Katt yanked down seven boards while Dylan Williams added five.

The Bobcats will be competing in the Bridge City Tournament next week.

ORANGEFIELD — The Orangefield Lady Bobcats snagged a tough 58-55 non-district home victory over the Hardin-Jefferson lady Hawks last Tuesday at Bobcat Gym.

Emmi Lummus had the hot hand for the Lady Bobcats, pouring in 22 points while swiping four steals and adding three rebounds.

Paris Fregia notched eight points to go along with four rebounds and four assists. Cameron Choate contributed 10 points and five boards while Tatum Garlington added eight points and six boards.

The Lady Bobcats will return to action next week as they will head to College Station for the Aggieland Invitational.

BRIDGE CITY — The Bridge City Cardinals held off the Sabine Pass Sharks 50-47 at Cardinal Gym Tuesday.

Hunter Wiegreffe powered the balanced Cardinal attack with 14 points. Brandon Vela pumped in 10 points while Max Baker and Dane Piper tallied eight points apiece.

Daniel Sam scored a game-high 22 points for the visiting Sharks while James Jones went for 19.

The Cardinals will host the Bridge City Classic next week.

LC-M girls

LITTLE CYPRESS — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears downed the Deweyville Lady Pirates 47-25 at The Bear Cave Tuesday.

Jacie Miller paced the Lady Bear attack with 12 points while Renna Toomey added 10.

The Lady Bears will compete in the East Chambers Tournament in Winnie next week.

STARKS (La.) – The Bridge City Lady Cardinals dropped a 35-30 road decision to Starks Monday.

Hannah Wiegreffe chimed in with 14 points to lead the Lady Cardinals while Maysen Tyler contributed nine.

The Lady Cardinals return to action Jan. 3 when they visit Liberty.
