Volleyball playoff seeding to be played out

Playoff seeding still needs to be settled for local District 22-3A volleyball teams.

The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears, who had a dramatic five-game victory over the Silsbee Lady Tigers on Tuesday to share the District 22-3A title, will take on Silsbee again to decide the seeding for the upcoming playoffs.

The two will battle at 5:30 p.m. at Buna High School. The winner gets the district’s top seed going into the playoffs while the one that falls will get the second seed.

The winner will play Shepherd in the bidistrict round of the playoffs while the second seed will face Jasper.

The Bridge City Lady Cardinals, who clinched the third-place spot in District 22-4A volleyball with a big win over the Hamshire-Fannett Lady Longhorns Tuesday, will take on the Huntington Lady Red Devils in the bidistrict round of the Class 4A playoffs next Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Kirbyville High School.
The Lady Red Devils are runnerups out of District 21-4A. The Lady Red Devils are 21-17 overall and went 7-3 in district play.

The West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs and Hamshire-Fannett Lady Longhorns tied for fourth place in the standings and will take each other on at 4 p.m. Friday at Hamshire-Fannett to determine the fourth-place playoff spot.
