Make a Difference One Day 4-H

Orange County 4-H would like to ask everyone to join us in our efforts to help Louisiana flood victims, by collecting school supplies. We are asking for donations of NEW school supplies and/or NEW clothing for any size school age boy or girl. Gift cards and cash will be appreciated also. Please share with your friends and family. Let’s show them how strong our community is and what we can do in ONE DAY. Start Collecting today and drop off at: Orange County Extension Office, 11475 FM 1442 Orange (Orange County Convention and Expo Center) or you can bring your donations to our official ONE DAY SUPPLY DRIVE, Saturday, October 8 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the 4-H office.

 

Basschamps Fishing Tournament

Basschamps Fishing Tournament from 3 p.m. -5 p.m. at the City of Orange Boat Ramp located at 1000 Simmons Drive in Orange.

 

 

2nd Annual Car Show and BBQ Cook-Off

Bridge City/Orangefield Ministerial Alliance 2nd Annual Car Show and BBQ Link Sale will be held at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church located at 200 West Roundbunch in Bridge City. $5 link meals will be available. Awards handed out at 3 p.m. Please contact Ministerial Alliance or your local church for a detailed rule sheet concerning the car show and church BBQ competition.

 

Lions Club Charity Carnival

Orange Lions Club Carnival 6:30 p.m. at Lion’s Den Park in Orange.

 

Haunted House

Deweyville PSG 2017 will be having a Haunted House at the Old Elementary School in Deweyville at 8 p.m. – until. It will be opening every Saturday after that from 8 p.m. Admission is $10 per person.

Bi-Annual Kickball Tournament

The #Makeithappen committee welcomes you to the first Bi-Annual Kickball Tournament! All teams require a $10 entry fee. Minimum 9 players. Maximum 12 players. Mixed gender teams are encouraged by not required. Food and Drink vendors will be available. Moonwalks and cotton candy for kids. Acadien/French Mass sponsored by Les Acadiens du Texas

La Maison Beausoliel Museum at Port Neches Riverfront Park, Port Neches is having Mass, at 11 a.m. Les Chenteurs Acadiens du Texas choir will sing hymns and Reverend Gary Schexnayder of Lafayette, Louisiana will officiate at the Mass. The museum will be open until 3 p.m. Music will follow the Mass. Cajun food, cold drinks and a “Sweet Shoppe” will be available on the grounds. Seating for 250 will be available, please feel free to bring lawn chairs. Come out and enjoy the day!

Retired Teachers Association

The next meeting of the Orange County Retired Teachers Association will be held at 10:30 a.m., at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 401 37th St. in Orange in the Sanctuary. The guest speaker will be State Representative Dade Phelan. All visitors are welcome.

Bridge City Chamber of Commerce is holding a Networking Coffee at 8 a.m. hosted by Elizabeth’s Hidden treasures located at 1595 Texas Avenue in Bridge City.

Vidor Chamber of Commerce is holding a Chamber Breakfast Connection from 8 a.m. – 9 a.m. hosted by Heart of Texas Family Medicine located at 395 North Main Street in Vidor.

 

OCF meeting

Orange County Friends (OCF) will meet from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for our General Meeting at First Baptist Church Orange on MLK. Lunch is “dutch treat”. Our speaker will be Jerry Pennington who will enlighten us on the history of Orange. Come share the company of good friends, food, and coffee! Dues for our social group are only $15/year. Activities include Bunco, bridge, book club, and mah Jong. Please come and bring a guest! CASA informational meeting

The second Tuesday of each month, CASA holds an information meeting to answer questions on how to become a CASA representative. The meetings are at 6 p.m. at the CASA office located at 2120 Gloria Drive in Orange. To reserve a seat, call 409-886-2272.

 

Anger Management Classes

Wells of Agape is holding Anger Management Classes from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Family Worship Center located at 2300 41st Street in Orange. It is the Old Bancroft School, room No. 35). Requirement to receive a Certificate of Completion is $30 per person, cash only. Must be paid prior to first class. One must attend all three Tuesday classes to receive the certificate.
