Pedestrian killed along Interstate 10 in Orange County

One person was killed following an auto-pedestrian crash in Orange County on Thursday, authorities said.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at approximately 10:55 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 10, near the 874-mile marker.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates a 2017 Toyota Camry was traveling east and struck a pedestrian who entered the roadway, according to information from DPS.

The driver of the Toyota, identified as 30-year-old Cameron Williams of Harlingen, was not injured.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on the scene by a justice of the peace.

The victim’s personal information is not available at this time, police said Friday afternoon.
