FANNETT — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears snagged their district volleyball opener Tuesday night, downing the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns 3-1 in four games at Longhorn Gym.

Renna Roomey led the way with 12 kills, 20 digs and two aces.

Morgan Weaver set up the offense well with 28 assists while Madison Taggart had nine blocks and two aces. Ally White and Kaitlin Avery each had two aces.

The Lady Bears (19-12, 1-0) will visit West Orange-Stark Tuesday.

SILSBEE — The West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs opened their district campaign with a nailbiting 21-25, 25-22, 13-25, 25-21, 4-15 loss to Silsbee at Tiger Gym Tuesday night.

JaTiyah Vital led WO-S with 22 kills and had six blocks.

Shatrya Allen posted 17 kills and six blocks. Gabrielle Robinson set the offense up well with 45 assists to go along with eight digs and four blocks.

WO_S will host Little Cypress-Mauriceville next Tuesday.

Deweyville moved to 1-0 in district and 19-10 overall with a victory Tuesday night against Hull-Daisetta 22-25, 25-15, 25-10, 25-18.
