Vidor ISD Coordinator of Community Relations Sally Andrews and Sgt. Aleta Cappen of the Vidor Police Department are planning National Night Out on Tuesday, October 4 in Pirate stadium in Vidor. The event, designed to create closer relationships between police and community, will feature games for kids, free books from Vidor Rotary’s green bus, and a wealth of information for families.  Included will be booths with entities offering services to area residents, such as the United Christian Care Center, Acadian Ambulance, Legacy Community Health, Family Services, Shriners, many local sheriff and police groups, and others. The evening will kick off with a fun lap around the track for families, encouraging exercise and healthy lifestyles.  The event will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and is open to the public. Residence in Vidor is not required.  For more information, contact Sally Andrews at 951-8700 or Sgt. Cappen at 769-4561.
