Lady Bobcats stroll past WO-S

WEST ORANGE — Piling up 16 hits and taking advantage of nine West Orange-Stark errors, the Orangefield Lady Bobcats stayed in the District 24-4A playoff chase with a convincing 17-0 win in three innings at Lady Mustang Feld Friday evening.

The Lady Bobcats are now 5-6 in 24-4A play, just a half game back of Little Cypress-Mauriceville for the forth-place playoff spot.

Orangefield is off Tuesday and will host Hamshire-Fannett (1-8) next Friday.

LC-M (5-5) had its bye Friday and will host second-place Silsbee (7-2) Tuesday and will visit third-place Hardin-Jefferson (6-3) on Friday.

The Lady Bobcats got nine runs in the top of the first inning on eight hits off the Lady Mustangs and picked up eight more runs on eight hits in the top half of the second to cast past the Lady Mustangs (0-10 in district).

The Lady Bobcats received home runs from both Kaylee Ancelot and Autumn Frost in the onslaught and Orangefield also roped six doubles.

Haley Fontenot was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate for the Lady Bobcats, with three doubles and two runs batted in.

Kinley McFarlin also went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two RBI.

Ancelot went 2-for-3 with the dinger, a double and four RBI. Frost was 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBI. Karlye Bramblett went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Kristin Broussard was 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Mallory Jackson, Destiny LeBouef and Lexi Holt each had singles for the Lady Mustangs, who will visit Hamshire-Fannett on Tuesday.

Ancelot got the win on the Orangefield mound, going all three innings while striking out five.
