Special to The Leader

BEAUMONT, Texas — The Symphony of Southeast Texas (SOST) invites you to get to know some of your orchestra musicians at “SOST On the Town” at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 5 in the Edison Plaza Lobby. This second annual concert experience takes the musicians out of the concert hall for an evening of great music, tasty treats from Green Light Kitchen and interesting conversation. Noted for their creativity, the SOST Percussion Ensemble will perform a variety of music you’d never identify with drums, cymbals or xylophones: Music from Spain, France, America and other countries. If you’ve never heard the Beatles on Steel drums, you’re in for a treat! Throughout the hour long concert will be video clips focusing on each member and what it’s like to be in an orchestra section.

Seating for “SOST On the Town” is limited. Tickets are $10 each. To purchase tickets or get more information, go to www.sost.org or contact the Symphony office at (409) 892-2257.

Edison Plaza is located at 350 Pine Street in downtown Beaumont.

“SOST On the Town” is generously supported by the G & G Enterprises of Beaumont
