Tigers use big runs to topple Bears

SILSBEE — Little Cypress-Mauriceville had a one-point lead over state-ranked Silsbee at the end of one period of play but the Tigers dominated the rest of the way as Silsbee defeated the Bears 76-31 in District 24-4A play at Tiger Gym Tuesday night.

The Tigers (3-0 in district) went on a 22-6 run in the second quarter after the Bears (1-2 in district) led 10-9 after the first quarter.

Silsbee stretched its lead to 43-26 after the third quarter and then went on a 33-5 run in the fourth.

Cameron Park led the Bears with 11 points while Ayson Simmons had eight.

Devon McCain led Silsbee with 13 points while Jordan Adams and Deontre Thomas added 11 points apiece.

The Bears will host Hardin-Jefferson Friday.
