Each March, we celebrate Women’s History Month, International Women’s Day, and a few years ago we began highlighting Southeast Texas women in industry.

While working on Local First for the Golden Triangle Polymers project over the past year, I have met with many Orange County businesses that are women-owned. It has been exciting to watch these companies grow and engage with the project, all while being appreciative of the benefits of having a world-class project in our community.

Natasha Garrett, owner of G&G Enterprises, said “Golden Triangle Polymers is a monumental project, bringing life-changing growth and opportunities to Orange County residents and businesses and other Southeast Texas businesses alike.”

She continued, “As a woman-owned business local to Southeast Texas, having an opportunity to provide G&G’s expertise to successfully deliver projects on this legacy project is a great honor. We are thrilled to play a role in the building of the facility and the impact being made to our community. As a female in the industry, working alongside like-minded teams to execute our commitments to the site affords me an opportunity to inspire future female leaders who may have never considered being a part of the industry … all in a continuous effort to support Orange and Southeast Texas.”

Not only does the Golden Triangle Project benefit industrial companies, but it also supports other businesses — from car washes to restaurants to medical services.

Take Joy Karunanithi, who owns CEP Solutions, LLC, a business that provides rentals, party supplies and services to residents, businesses, churches, schools and industrial operations, as another example.

Joy shared, “Golden Triangle Polymers has been and continues to be such an opportunity for growth in multiple aspects for Orange County. From providing new local jobs, to creating new opportunities of revenue for small business owners like me, and donating to multiple organizations, they serve our community. Golden Triangle Polymers has brought a fresh breath of life and excitement to our county.”

When asked about her experience working with Golden Triangle Polymers employees, Joy said, “I have truly enjoyed being able engage with the Local First Public Information office. They have been such a wonderful asset! They have provided an abundant amount of information and direction for me and my business to be a part of the opportunities that Golden Triangle Polymers has provided.”

We salute women-owned companies and all women this month and every month.

Thank you for making Orange County a great place to live and work!
