Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas announced a record amount of monthly cash rewards.

Officials said there were 17 rewards approved for a total of $10,150 in February.

On March 20, there will be 21 rewards presented to the board of directors, requesting $8,000.

Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas started out as Beaumont Crime Stoppers in November of 1981.

Over the years it has expanded to cover Jefferson, Hardin, Orange counties and, as of June of 2023, Jasper county.

The backbone of the program is the guarantee of anonymity for the person providing the tip. These tips can include any criminal act, wanted fugitive, school policy violation and the list goes on.

In 2022 there were 1,663 tips received and in 2023 a total of 2,094 received.

“Thank you to all the media partners for pushing out this important information that keeps our community safe,” officials stated.

“There are three ways to report. Calling 409-833-TIPS, Web at 833tips.com or by downloading the P3TIPS app on a mobile device. Remember you will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward. If you see something, say something.”
