Orange Golden K Kiwanis meeting
Golden K Kiwanis, a group for over 50 Kiwanis, will meet at 9:30 a.m. at Salvation Army Meeting Room at the corner of MLK and Strickland in Orange, beginning at 9:30 a.m. with coffee, speaker at 9:45 a.m., and concluding at 10:45 a.m. Rhonda Powell, Director of GOALS (Greater Orange Area Literacy Services), will speak on the annual fundraiser for GOALS, a spelling bee held on the campus of LSCO on Fri., Mar. 27. Deadline for Teams to enter is Wed., Mar.11. The public is welcome to attend.

Music by the Stars
The Music by the Stars will be held Friday, Feb. 21 starting at 6 p.m. with the doors to open at 5 p.m. at The Oaks (former VFW) in Vidor located at 2110 South Main. There will be a dinner and acoustic entertainment from Neal McCoy, Layne Allen, and Crossroads Band. Tickets are $50 and it includes dinner and entertainment. A Cash bar is available. The Newton County Historical Commission is sponsoring the Newton County Genealogy Conference from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21 and 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Iris and Anne Howard Civic Center, 213 E.
