BEAUMONT, Texas – The Junior League of Beaumont is getting ready to dance the night away with its fundraiser, Dancing with the Stars of Southeast Texas. On March 6, 2020, the Beaumont Civic Center will be transformed with performances from sixteen of the community’s best and brightest.

This is the fourth year for this unique community-building endeavor featuring local stars: Kate Carroll and Justin Huff, Dr. Shannon Allen and Dr. Belinda George, Mattie Beaver and Dr. Jimmy Simmons, Danita Fierce and Logan Sherlock, Jillian Fertig and Jason Byrd, Ashley Fisher and Dr. Andrew Victores, Jennifer Burch and Larry Spears Jr., Maureen Winchell and Dr. Ronald Risinger.

 Each pair will perform dances choreographed by professional instructors from premier dance studios in the area.  This event could not happen without the following choreographers and dance studios: Ashland’s Affirming Arts Studio; Beaumont ISD Dance Magnet; Bonnie Cokinos School of Dance; City Dance Center; Dance Attitudes; Exygon Health and Fitness;  Horizons Dance-Tumble-Cheer, Inc.; and iRule Dance. 

These dancing duos promise an evening of entertainment while also raising funds for the Junior League of Beaumont, whose primary mission is to promote volunteerism and develop the potential of women by supporting our community. The League supports Beaumont and surrounding areas through community projects that focus on self-esteem for youth, parenting skills, and promoting healthy lifestyles. With the community’s support for Dancing with the Stars of Southeast Texas, the Junior League of Beaumont will be able to continue its vision of enriching the lives of all families in Southeast Texas.

In addition to the event, Dancing with the Stars of Southeast is partnering with the City of Beaumont to present Classic Movie Night on January 31, 2020, at the Jefferson Theatre. Our feature film is Disney’s classic, The Princess and the Frog. This event is family-friendly and tickets are $5 per person. Advance tickets will be available at the Beaumont Civic Center box office.   Partial proceeds will benefit the Junior League of Beaumont, and all attendees will have the opportunity to vote for a star couple by allocating a portion of their ticket price to their favorite dancing pair. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the movie will premiere at 7:30 p.m. 

Our dancers will take the stage on Friday, March 6, 2019, at the Beaumont Civic Center to compete for the Mirrorball Trophy.  At the end of the night, the trophy will be awarded to the couple with the most votes—each dollar raised is one vote.
