Orange Amateur Radio Club is holding its Winter Field Day at the Deweyville High School Saturday, Jan.  25 and Sunday, Jan. 26. The event has been named ‘The Jack Harrison Winter Field Day’ in memory of long-time operator, Jack Harrison. In his honor, the club will use his call sign, N5OIE, during the 24-hour event. The purpose of the event is to simulate activating of communications network during times of emergency or disaster. FCC licensed club members will set up radio stations whit hand-built antennas and make contacts with other radios operators around the world.
