Semi-trailer burns, driver escapes injuries

The driver of an 18-wheeler was able to escape a fiery blaze after his trailer caught fire at approximately 6 p.m. Thursday night.

Orange Firefighters responded to the reported fire at the Texas Travel information Center on Interstate 10 West.
According to the driver, he was traveling from Louisiana, when he began to experience brake issues. The driver was able to make it to the Information Center safely, before his brakes became over heated, setting the trailer of the on fire.
The driver was able to break his cab away from the trailer before it caught on fire.

Upon arrival of firefighters, the back of the trailer was fully engulfed in flames with heavy fire and smoke coming from the trailer.
Firefighters quickly attacked the blaze before it could spread to the front of the trailer. No injuries were reported from the fire.
