PORT NECHES – Texas Baptists will host the 2019 [un]Apologetic Conference from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Nov. 9, 2019, at First Baptist Church Port Neches located on 1900 Magnolia Avenue in Port Neches, Texas.  This is the first such conference to be held in the Southeast Texas area and is open to the public.  This conference is non-denominational.

Participants will learn how science and reasoned arguments support the Christian faith. Speaking sessions and workshops will help individuals strengthen their faith through discussions about science and using reason and logic to make sound arguments so they are confident about sharing about God and Christianity.

The purpose of apologetics (derived from the Greek word Apologia, which means to provide a defense, as in legal defense for a client) is to develop and share arguments for the truth and rationality of Christianity and the falsehood and irrationality of alternatives with the aim of strengthening the faith of believers and inspiring non-believers to consider Jesus Christ.

The conference tickets are $45 ($35 early bird by Oct. 26) and $35 ($25 early bird by Oct. 26) for students. Doors open at 7 a.m.

A few of the session titles are How Science Supports Faith, Why Does God Allow Evil, The Case for Christianity, Alternatives to 5-Point Calvinism and Sharing your Faith with Skeptics. Attendees will hear from speakers such as J.P. Moreland, Leighton Flowers, and Clay Jones among others who are well known in apologetical thought.  A Spanish-language track is also provided.
