To The Leader

 

After the first round of State competition for Little Cypress-Mauriceville’s UIL Academic Team, they are holding 8th place. The Computer Science Team came away with 1st Place. The coach is Terry Morris and team members include Derrick Martin, Nick Mugleston, Dajhuan Myles, and Lovejot Singh.

The Number Sense team of Aidan Watson, Tyler Comeaux, Lovejot Singh, and Suhkjot Singh took 3rd  Place. Math Team earned 4th Place and team members are Derrick Martin, Nick Mugleston, Dajhuan Myles, and Suhkjot Singh. Ricky Ryan is the coach for both Number Sense and Math teams.

Individual results included Tyler Comeaux-12th in Computer Applications. Computer Science results were Nick Mugleston- 3rd, Dajhuan Myles- 6th, Derrick Martin-8th, and Lovejot Singh-18th.

Jackson Baeza was 12th in Current Issues, Darian Simmons took 3rd in Feature Writing, and in Math, Sukhjot Singh was 6th, Dajhuan Myles 10th, Derrick Martin 14th, and Lovejot Singh 17th.

 In Number Sense Aidan Watson earned 4th, Sukhjot Singh 10th, and Lovejot Singh 14th. Tyler Comeaux in Number Sense placed 21st.

The following students will go to State on May 29-30 and their scores will be figured into LCM’s overall standings. Matthew Sherwin will compete in Informative Speaking, Kiera Figgins in Lincoln Douglas Debate and Persuasive Speaking, Lucas Ridout in Poetry, and Ashlyn Ellis and Eli Ridout in Prose.
