Golden K Kiwanis meeting

Golden K Kiwanis meets every Wed. from 9:45-10:45 a.m. in the meeting room of the Salvation Army Building, corner of MLK and Strickland, across from the Shell and fire station.  The public is welcome to attend, and coffee is always served. Linda Womack and Catherine Powers of Master Gardners are bringing back Garden Tours, originated many years ago by AAUW (American Association of University Women).  They will share their May 5 Master Gardner’s tour agenda at this April 10 Golden K meeting.

Elementary Kindergarten Round-Up

Little Cypress Elementary will hold Kindergarten Roundup on Monday, April 16. For the convenience of parents, there will be a morning session from 9 until 10 a.m. and an evening session from 6 until 7 p.m.

To register children to start school in the fall, parents must have the child’s birth certificate, social security card, shot record, and the parents’ driver’s license. The school also must see proof of residence, such as an electric or other utility bills. If you have questions, please contact LCE at 886-2838.

 

Community Grand Opening Fish Fry and Ribbon Cutting

First Financial Bank is holding a Community Grand Opening Fish Fry from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Thursday, April 11 at its new location on 16th Street in Orange. The Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a Ribbon Cutting during the event.

 

Friday, April 12

West Orange Spring Clean-Up

The City of West Orange will hold it’s annual Spring Clean-up 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Fri. April 12 and Sat. April 13.

Dumpsters will be available behind the West Orange Fire Station, 2701 Austin Ave. in West Orange.

Residents must show proof of residency and photo identification.

 

Lenten Fish Fry

St. Francis of Assisi Knights of Columbus Council 13825 is selling fish dinners in the San Damiano Center (behind the Church) located at 4300 Meeks Drive from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the following Lenten Fridays: April 12. Dinner includes two pieces of fish, french fries, hushpuppies, coleslaw, drink and dessert for $8.

 

Fundraiser Dinners

$10 Dinner Sales! Pick your entree: Leg quarter and Link or three pieces of fried catfish. Sides are dirty rice, green beans, potato salad, bread, cake, and a drink. Cowboy Church of OC Annual Rodeo

Cowboy Church or Orange County will host its Annual Rodeo at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13 at T2 Arena located at 3810 Old Peveto Road in Orange. For more information call 409-893-8657

Shred-it and forget-it

Shred-it and forget-it will be held at Sabine Federal Credit Union from 9 a.m. to noon. Pinehurst residents and credit union members may participate by bringing documents needing to be destroyed to 1939 Strickland.

Spring Extravaganza

Community Christian School’s 14th annual Spring Extravaganza is from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., on Saturday, April 13, 2019. A family fun event with games for kids, free admission, shopping from 20-plus local vendors, barbecue lunches and concessions, and an amazing silent auction!

 

Parenting Class

Wells of Agape is holding a Parenting Class from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at Life Church Orange located at 18389 Hwy. 62 in Orange. (Near the Hwy. 62 and Hwy. 105 intersection). Lunch is provided. Requirement to receive a Certificate of Completion is $30 per person, cash only. One must attend from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. to receive the certificate.
