Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a Ribbon Cutting at Central Office Supply (COS Printing) at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 21 at 1600 Texas Ave. in Bridge City.

 

Disaster Recovery Assistance Program Informational Sessions

Legacy Community Development Corp is holding a Disaster Recovery Assistance Program Complimentary Informational Sessions at United Way of Orange County from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at 1506 West Park Ave. in Orange.

Learn about Disaster Recovery Assistance available to those affected by Hurricane Harvey in Orange County. Sessions will include Program Overview, Eligibility Guidelines, Documentation. Lenten Fish Fry

St. Francis of Assisi Knights of Columbus Council 13825 is selling fish dinners in the San Damiano Center (behind the Church) located at 4300 Meeks Drive from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the following Lenten Fridays: March 22, March 29, April 5 and April 12. Dinner includes two pieces of fish, french fries, hushpuppies, coleslaw, drink and dessert for $8.

 

Fundraiser Dinners

$10 Dinner Sales! Pick your entree: Leg quarter and Link or three pieces of fried catfish. Sides are dirty rice, green beans, potato salad, bread, cake, and a drink. Staring at 11 a.m. at 110 Amaryliss Ave. in Orange. Contact Benitris Edwards at 409-330-6730. All proceeds to benefit Gate City Guild #42.

 

Annual Spelling Bee

The annual spelling bee, the main fundraiser for GOALS (Greater Orange Area Literacy Services), is set for Friday, March 22, 

11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the Lamar State College-Orange Student Gym.  The theme of the Spelling Bee this year is “Books and Storybook Characters.” Master of Ceremonies will once again be KFDM-TV weather personality, Dana Melancon.  A light lunch is provided, and fun costumes and face paints are welcome!  This is an annual event in the Orange community.  Individuals may attend for a $15 fee, with lunch provided.

Bloomin’ Crazy Plant Fair

The Orange County Master Gardeners are holding their 6th Annual Bloomin’ Crazy Plant Fair Saturday, March 23, 2019, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Cormier Park, 8235 FM 1442, Orangefield. Hundreds of nursery & member-grown plants will be for sale including many varieties of citrus, berries, cold-hardy avocados, fig trees, Texas Superstars, perennials, natives, annuals, house & tropicals along with succulents, lilies and many other hard to find & unusual plants. Plant specialists & members will be available to answer questions and to assist you in selecting your plants. Specialty booths will be set up with unique gardening and craft items. First United Methodist Church is hosting a Church Wide Garage Sale from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at 502 North 6th Street in Orange. Items include couches, tables, chairs, stoves, books, toys and more.

 

Annual Spring Garage Sale
