Little Cypress – Mauriceville CISD is taking steps to address a weapon brought to one of the campuses last week.

In a statement issued from the district:

On Sunday evening, Little Cypress-Mauriceville administrators were made aware of a possible weapon having been brought on the high school campus last Friday. After investigating and interviewing students, the Administration believes the weapon to be a handgun. Administrators have identified the student and the school is following the Student Code of Conduct. The student is not on campus.
