The Vidor Chamber of Commerce is promising this year’s Main Street Market and Classic Christmas Cruise will be bigger and better than ever before.

Charlotte Ragan, a member of the Vidor Chamber’s Board of Directors said there will be more activities, more prizes, and more vendors, as well as the Cruise’s traditional fare of classic cars, Christmas Tree lighting, music, entertainment and Santa.

“The Cruise, which is happening on Saturday, December 8^th, will be the 18^th Annual Vidor Chamber of Commerce Classic Christmas Cruise,” Ragan said. “And this year we will be adding some features. First of all, for all of our Cruisers, we’re adding some prize categories so that means First through Fifth Place trophies. And they are going to be some gorgeous trophies. So Cruisers, make plans to be there. The Cruiser entry fee is two non-perishable food items or one new toy of $10 or more value to be donated to Operation Blue Santa or a $10 donation. All Cruiser entry fees will be donated to charity.”

Ragan said during this year’s Cruise from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Woods Plaza Event Center at 185 North Main Street, there would be musical entertainment provided by various choirs starting at 4 p.m., with the sounds of “Louisiana Cajun Express” following the choirs. And, of course, the traditional Vidor Chamber of Commerce Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will happen sometime after dark. And Santa will be there!

The Director also said that there will be four food vendors at the Cruise this year including bar-b-cue, gumbo, and pork-a-bobs. There will also be a number of retail and craft vendors set up at the Cruise so that you might find that special Christmas gift for a loved one.

“We’re hoping more vendors decide to participate by setting up a table at the cruise,” said Ragan. “In fact, we have a sponsor that will cover half of the vendor fee of $50 to sell their wares at the cruise. So for $25, you could set up a table and a tarp, (bring your own tables and tarps, please) and we have electricity for you. We will also have room inside the Woods Plaza Event Center for a few vendors. Vendors can also pay their entry fee at the PayPal link on another page of the Chamber’s website www.vidorcoc. com/joinus. Remember the vendor fee is only $25 and not the $50 listed on the form.”
