To The Leader
In April, Vidor ISD and the consulting firm, Disaster Recovery Services, presented to FEMA cost estimates for the repair of the Oak Forest Elementary campus.
Vidor ISD received approval from FEMA regarding the submission for a rebuild of the facility.
This determination was based on the analysis that damages to the campus exceeded 50-percent of the value of the school. With the FEMA approval in place, there will be a free Congressional review by the Office of Legislative Affairs and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Vidor ISD will begin the process of planning for the rebuild of Oak Forest Elementary following the completion of these two steps.
Vidor ISD looks forward to moving forward with a permanent location for its students and helping students reach their goals at a new and improved Oak Forest Elementary School.
