Strange weather and crime might open your eyes

Have you noticed across the Nation, over the last six months, that strange weather is happening? I have.

Flooding in the Eastern states, heat waves covering the U.S., snow storms in Saudi – 15 full inches, frozen animals in record breaking cold; 56 below Fahrenheit temperatures in Russia; Oxygen levels so low in bodies of water, it’s killing the fish. Millions of fish died at the Houston Yacht Club alone. Freezing rain and snowflakes in the panhandle of Florida; the first since 1885. We had the coldest April in the last 21 years in the U.S., and then we had the hottest May since they begin keeping records!

No, I’m not a doomsdayer, but I do like to keep up with what is going on in the world. I do find it a little bit exciting to know that we are one step closer to seeing Jesus’s return. Ok, maybe I am a little bit of a doomsdayer, but the Bible does say, “watch and pray”.

Well, I’m watching.

When Noah and Lot, warned the people of God’s coming judgment and destruction, the people would not listen.  Instead they treated Noah and Lot, as “extremists” so please don’t judge me.

The Bible clearly teaches that society will degenerate in the end times, becoming as evil as it was in the days of Noah (Matthew 24:37-39).

The Apostle Paul, speaking as a prophet, says that society will descend into a black pit of immorality, violence, and paganism (2 Timothy 3:1-5).

He asserts that men will be “lovers of self, lovers of money, and lovers of pleasure.”  People will be “boastful, arrogant, and unholy,” and children will be “disobedient to parents.”

Sounds like the evening news, doesn’t it? In short, we have arrived.

We have people stealing from band booster clubs, random shootings at schools, a woman killed her finance after arguing about their wedding guest! What? I was watching TV, and looking at Facebook the other day, and a huge wave swept over me, that all we are concerned about is “how this will help pleasure me.”

I know we have been in this state for some time now, but it really did not hit home, until God opened my eyes, and I saw.

Psalm 119:18 states “Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.”

Seeing things thru God’s law, is a wonderful thing. It helps you put the world in prospective. If we can’t see a problem, then we don’t try to fix it. Once we do see a problem, then we can move to a greater relationship with God, because we are thinking, and acting more like God.

Let the bad in the world, open your eyes to greater things that God has for you.
