SILSBEE, Texas,  – Lillard Farm Theatrical (LiFT) proudly announces the 2018 Summer Theatre Camp for kids with a production of Blimey Buccaneers.

LiFT Summer Theatre Camp is for children, 9 to 16 years old, meeting in the Silsbee High School Auditorium, starting July 9 through July 28 from 12:30 to 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday. Theatre campers will perform on July 27 and 28 a theatrical production of Blimey Buccaneers, a two-night original musical comedy play. The fee for the three-week camp is $150 per student; scholarships available upon request, no previous singing or acting experience required.

Director Mark Wilson, Executive Director of LiFT, will provide professional instruction. “We are so happy to offer this fun opportunity for the young people of our area to explore the arts,” Wilson said. “LiFT provides students a safe, fun, and air-conditioned opportunity to spread their wings by learning more about singing, acting, dancing and how to work together as a team.”

LiFT theatre arts education is designed to build creative and well-assured young adults with a style of teaching that is child-based individually. LiFT’s staff of team teachers are: “experienced adults who love to share their artistry and passion for the arts,” Wilson said, especially for young performers.

Blimey Buccaneers has everything young actors will love: pirates, mermaids, shipwrecks, and much more, according to Playwrite Janice Pattillo. “This will be a fun experience for kids; it will be a show filled with comedy for all ages,” she said. “It will be fun to be in and fun to watch.”

Actors will stage pirates in sword-fights, singing, and dancing together with the newest best friend a child could ever have – what’s not to like? “It’s all of the things that kids enjoy being a part of,” she said. New friendships abound, and every student who signs up has a character part with lines and a provided costume. Mark Wilson finds a way to showcase the strength of every budding young performer.
