To The Leader

Catholic School week is always a fun week for our Catholic School.  There are many fun activities and ending with our Grandparents Day Program.  This year’s Catholic School Week is Sunday, January 28, 2018 to Friday, February 2, 2018.

Sunday, January 28th: Selected Student, Teacher, and Parent Ambassadors will speak at masses about our Catholic School.

Monday, January 29th: Open House will be from 6-7 PM.  Please come to see what your students have been up to at school.  We also invite you to bring a perspective family/friend with you to tour the school and your child/children will receive a special treat.

Tuesday, January 30tht: Storybook Character Day is where the classes will select a character to portray and will present their book and characters at Morning Prayer starting at 7:45 AM in the gym.  Your child’s teacher will let you know what you need to do and wear when it gets closer to time.

Wednesday, January 31st: Rainbow Mass Day-   The 4th -8th Grade will go to Beaumont that morning to celebrate 10:00 AM mass at the Basilica.  Proper mass attire is required.  Some 8th graders will leave early to participate in the mass.  Pre-K3- 3rd grade will have a Rainbow Parade/Prayer Service in the chapel at school.  The parade starts at 9:15 and will end with the prayer service.  Parents are welcome to join.  Pre-K3- 3rd grade may wear proper uniform bottoms and their favorite color of the rainbow shirt.

Thursday, February 1st: 100th Day Celebration will be held at morning assembly with the presentation of collected items for the Angela House, Rainbow Room, Soup Kitchen or Animal Shelter. Pre-K will be making cards and treats for the firemen in Orange.  Please start sending items to your teacher so we can get those 100 items before January 31st   which is the due date to turn in your item donation.    Items to be collected are as follows by the classes:

Angela House: 5th Grade JoAnn Sparacino, Kindergarten Mrs. Thompson, 2nd Grade Mrs. Wimberley

Items needed:  cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, dish washing soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, stamps, stationary, brushes, picks and combs.

Rainbow Room: 7th Grade Mrs. Daniels, Pre-K3 Mrs. Harmon, 3rd Mrs. Woods, 4th Mrs. Cupp

Items needed: baby items ex: diapers, baby food, baby wipes, toys

Animal Shelter:  1st Grade Mrs. King, Pre-K4 Mrs. Smith, 6th Grade Mrs. Pousson

Items needed: dog food and cat food

Soup Kitchen: 8th Grade Mrs. LaChance (Please send monetary donations so they can buy what is needed to continue providing the Soup Kitchen for the needy.)

Friday, February 2nd: Grand Parent’s Day Program will be from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM in the gym. Dress code for this day for our students and teachers is as follows: Appropriate dress code Blue Jeans and either a Mardi Gras t-shirt or a plain purple, gold (yellow), or green shirt.  All other dress codes must be followed.
