Little Cypress and Mauriceville Elementary Schools are both recipients of $135,000 grants from the Laura Bush Foundation to help restore the schools’ libraries that were decimated during Hurricane Harvey. In addition to the Laura Bush grant, Little Cypress Elementary received a $1,500 grant from International Paper and a $20,000 grant from the American Library Association.

This will go a long way in getting the libraries ready for children when their schools reopen. Not only were books lost, but equipment, furnishings and shelving must all be replaced.
