3 People Injured in Crash on Highway 62 in Orange County

PRESS RELEASE — At approximately 5:45 p.m., on Sunday, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of SH 62 and Wade Road in Orange County.

Preliminary reports indicate that a 2002 Lincoln Towncar was traveling northbound on SH 62 without headlights.  A 2008 Ford passenger vehicle was stopped at the stop sign on Wade Road.  The driver of the Ford began to make a left turn onto SH 62 and was struck on the driver-side of the vehicle by the Lincoln.
The driver of the Ford, 28-year-old Armondo Cristobal of Vidor, and an 8-year-old female were both transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth hospital with unknown injuries.
The driver of the Lincoln, 64- year-old Kathy Sherrill of Orange, was also transported to St. Elizabeth hospital.  Her injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
This crash remains under investigation and there are no further details to be released at this time.
