Against Hospital District

It goes without saying that Orange County needs a small hospital, It also goes without saying that this facility, needs to stand on it’s own 2 feet. The present proposal by the County Commissioners to create a Hospital District and tax us on it, is unacceptable. Any health care facility here, needs to be paid for by the provider and the patients, not the average tax payer. Too many variables, to make a facility like this work. You have to have the facility, of course, the doctors and the equipment. Good doctors do not come to a facility unless they have good equipment, and that costs a lot of money. The County Commissioners need to go on a campaign to bring a commercial hospital provider here, and leave the tax payer out of it. They can give tax abatements, to the facility, to entice them to come.
