Special to The Leader

On Tuesday, August 22, Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School Principal Todd Loupe received word from the Texas Interscholastic League Foundation (TILF) that LCM High School was one of only five high schools statewide to have four or more students receive TILF scholarships. According to Trudy Richards, Executive Director of TILF, “… this speaks volumes about the quality of your UIL academic program.”

The students’ names, awards received and amount of scholarships are listed below.

Connor Alexander –  Hatton W. Sumners Foundation Scholarship, $1,000; Matthew Cox – Nelda C. & H.J. Lutcher Stark Special Scholarship, $1,000: Jennifer Ellis – Clyde V. McKee, Jr. Memorial Scholarship, $1,000; Thomas King – Louise P. and Joe. B Cook Memorial Scholarship, $3,700.

TILF provides scholarships to students who excel in UIL academic and music contests. A full listing of students across the state receiving awards can be found at http://tilfoundation.org/news-and-events/recipients/. TILF awarded 260 new and 211 continuing scholarships this year totaling more than $1 million.
