Special to The Leader

Vidor School Food Service and Vidor Rotary Club will combine forces for a mobile summer feeding for children ages eighteen and younger.  There is no paperwork necessary, and the meals are free to those youth.  Three feeding sites will serve meals Monday through Thursday, June 5 – July 13 (excluding July 4).  Residence in Vidor is not required.  Students will also be able to check out summer reading materials from Vidor Rotary Clubs green bus.

The first feeding site is Twelve Oaks Apartments at 2405 Highway 12 across from Oak Forest Elementary, with lunch being served there at 11:00.  Guests are welcome, and residence in Twelve Oaks is not a requirement.

The second site is the Katie Pittman Christian Activity Center at First United Methodist Church, 501 N. Main.  The green bus will arrive at 11:20 each feeding day to deliver hot meals.

Site number three is Waterfall Apartments on South Main, in the rec room, which is all the way to the back of the complex.  Lunch time there will be about 11:35 or 11:40.  There will be no adult meals for sale at any of these three sites.

In addition, there will be other feeding sites.  Vidor Middle School will host free breakfast from 7:30-8:00 a.m. June 5-29, and lunch from 10:30-11:00 a.m.  Parent breakfast is $2.75 and lunch is $4.25.  Vidor Junior High will have breakfast and lunch at the same times, with their serving dates running June 5-21 only.

Vidor High School will serve a lunch from 10:30-11:00 Monday-Thursday June 6-July 13.  Parents may purchase lunches at the school sites only.  This program is funded by USDA.
