2017 Lights of Hope

Published 4:49 pm Monday, May 15, 2017

It can be hard to cut through the noise on social media when trying to share a cause about which you’re passionate. That is why I am proud to have a poignant, tangible way to raise awareness for cancer — a disease that will claim too many lives of Texans this year.

Every year, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network volunteers like myself travel to Washington, D.C., to speak with Congress about how we can eliminate cancer once and for all. We bring with us thousands of Lights of Hope bags to display around the Reflection Pool in front of the U.S. Capitol., and they’re decorated and adorned with the names of cancer survivors and those lost to this horrible disease.

If anyone would like to get a Lights of Hope bag for someone in Memory or in Honor, please contact me: by email at nneel1551@gmail.com. The cost of each bag is only $10.00 .and All donations must be made by August 30, 2017. If you would like more information about the Lights of Hope bags or the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, please feel free to email me also at the above email.

Thank you,

Nancy Neel
