Stay and Play will be open to the public for the first time from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 25 at Little Cypress Intermediate School.

The playground is all-inclusive and completely handicap and wheelchair friendly.

The funds for the playground are from donations, grants and fundraisers. Each phase of the recreation area was fully funded prior to construction.

Prior to the enclosed area, the LIFE Skills students did not have an outside area to help with the development of gross motor skills. The area now provides a safe environment for the children.

LC-M ISD website defines Learning in Functional Environments (L.I.F.E. SKILLS) as classes designed for students with mild to severe mental retardation, autism and other cognitive disabilities for the purpose of teaching practical/functional skills in realistic environments.
