Milly S. Arnold

Milly S. Arnold, 88, of Orange, Texas passed away on January 13, 2017.

Her family cordially invites Milly’s loved-ones to celebrate her life.  Visitation and family memories will be shared on Friday, January 20, 2017, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas.

On Saturday, January 21, 2017, a memorial in her remembrance will also be held at Claybar beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Afterward, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange, Texas, graveside services will be conducted by her beloved members of the Order of the Eastern Star, Orange Chapter #214.

Born in Covington, Louisiana, on January 17 and then attending Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas, she met, randomly and on a return bus back to Nacogdoches, her future husband Roy Ralston Arnold.  The couple married on November 30, 1946, and enjoyed a long and loving marriage until his passing in July 2003.

Early on, Milly was a Licensed Vocational Nurse, then worked in the Cash Office at Sears for ten years.  Additionally, she was involved in many organizations, which included the Orange Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star #214.  She loved art, film, and literature.  She was also a member of Park Avenue and First United Methodist Churches in Orange, Texas.  Milly will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Milly is survived by her three daughters, Janice McMahon and husband Sam, Joellen Grooms and husband Don, Jaydean Tullos and husband Lon; plus loving grand, great, and great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in her passing by her sisters, Edna Horton, and Ruth Tanner.
