Duiane Ruth Hassell, age 91, was born in Mercedes, Texas on November 14, 1932 to Blanche and Charles Hassell.

She passed away peacefully in Pflugerville, TX on Sunday, April 28, 2024.

Duiane was married to Robert Allen Pruitt on June 10, 1950 at First Baptist Church in Brownsville, TX.

She is survived by her three children Robert Pruitt Jr. and wife Renee’, Debbie Wilson and husband Mike and Sarah Crafts along with 8 grandchildren, Rachel Crafts, Marc Wilson, Kyle R. Pruitt, Amy Peterson, Jon Wilson, Tommy Joel McRight, Alexander Hoyte and Kathryn Hoyte and 14 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.

She is also survived by her sister Mary Jo Davis.

Duiane was very active in the church, and her love for the Lord was shown in all the ways she served Him. She could always be seen singing in the choir, preforming in the church Christmas programs, teaching Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School.

Duiane also lead the GA’s (a mission group for elementary through middle school girls) for 10 years. Duiane worked for the Bridge City School District as a secretary to the counselor of the middle school for 21 years as well.

After several different moves through various cities, Bob and Duiane found themselves in Cedar Park, Texas. There, Duiane offered to care for her first three great grandchildren for a couple of years.

She enjoyed that time with them so much and talked about it often.

Bob and Duiane then packed up their city life and chose to finally fully retire to a peaceful country life in Elgin, Texas where Duiane enjoyed planting her various beautiful flowers, tending to her garden, and loved watching her humming birds from her back porch.

A visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday May 1, 2024, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home in Elgin, TX.

A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, May 2, 2024, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, TX.

She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
