1,256 Candidates Recognized at UT Tyler Fall 2016 Commencement

The University of Texas at Tyler held 2016 fall commencement ceremonies Dec. 16 and 17.
One thousand two hundred fifty six degree candidates were recognized in the UT Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center.
President Rodney H. Mabry, UT Tyler David G. Braithwaite Professor of Nursing and associate dean for graduate nursing programs Dr. Barbara Haas and The Honorable Bryan Hughes delivered commencement addresses. Mabry also conferred degrees.
Presentation and certification of master’s, baccalaureate and doctoral degree candidates were made by the deans of each of the university’s colleges: Dr. Martin Slann, Arts and Sciences; Dr. James Lumpkin, Business and Technology; Dr. Ross Sherman, Education and Psychology; Dr. Michael McGinnis, Engineering; and Dr. Yong Tai Wang, Nursing and Health Sciences.
Carroll Rogé, corporate vice president of marketing and planning of East Texas Medical Center Regional Health Care System, gave alumni association presentations.
