Beaumont – On Friday, September 16 at 12:30 p.m., Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) will celebrate the Installation of Dr. Lonnie L. Howard. The event will be held in Beaumont, Texas at the Multi-Purpose Center on the LIT campus.

This ceremony is designed to formally acknowledge the change in leadership at the college’s highest level. The installation will bring together the Texas State University College System (TSUS) Board members, Chancellor, Brian McCall, elected officials, industry and civic leaders, faculty, staff and students to celebrate in this institution-wide event. During his presidential address, Dr. Howard will be presenting “A Shared Vision” for the next chapter of LIT’s future.

Previously, Dr. Howard served as Clover Park Technical College’s President/CEO.

As a first-generation college graduate, his life demonstrates the value of higher education and the role of technical education in transforming lives. He is the third president in LIT’s twenty-one year history.
