Special to The Leader

McNeese State University’s Master of Business Administration degree program will be available completely online beginning in August.

Students now have the choice of getting their MBA degree either by taking all the required courses online or the traditional face-to-face classes, according to Dr. Banamber Mishra, the director of McNeese’s MBA program. Both programs are nationally accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International.

“All MBA courses will now be offered in the two formats,” said Mishra. “The courses offered online will be identical to the courses offered in a classroom setting and taught by the same faculty. Students can take courses in either format to complete their degree.”

He added, “By offering all MBA courses online, our program is trying to make it more convenient for our current students who might have a scheduling conflict and need to take an online course and to attract students beyond the five-parish area who work full time or have family obligations and can’t get to campus.”

This program, depending on a student’s course work and scheduling, can be completed within four semesters. Non-business majors will be required to take additional foundation courses that can extend the degree plan to six semesters.

The MBA program is now accepting applications and classes begin Aug. 22. In order to be admitted to the MBA program, an applicant must be admitted to the Doré School of Graduate Studies. For more information on graduate admission requirements, visit www.mcneese.edu/mba.
