St. Mary Catholic School 7th and 8th graders participated in the JASON Project, Wetlands: Race to Restore presentation.  Our student argo, Adrian Willingham, was in the video about the importance of alligators in the ecosystem.  In the picture, students had the opportunity to test the pH level of orange juice, dishwasher soap, milk, water, and potting soil.  Students had to predict whether each substance was acidic or basic based on the pH level.  pH level of 7 is neutral, while pH level 0-6 (acidic) and pH level 8-14 (basic). Students enjoyed this hands-on learning activity.
