Lillian Moore Abshire

Lillian Moore Abshire, age 95 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2016 at her home. Celebration of Life Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Joseph Daleo officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Dorman Funeral Home with a rosary service at 7:00 PM.

Lillian was born on April 23, 1920 in Orange, Texas to the late Frank Moore and Corrine Carpenter Moore. She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Lillian worked for many years as a nurse for Francis Ann Lutcher Hospital and Orange Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed sewing and loved her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Whitney Joe Abshire, infant son David Lee Abshire and grandson Alton Paul Durio. Two sisters; Mary Celeste Curry and Ada Bergeron. Two brothers, George Moore and Paul Moore.

Survivors include her three daughters; Betty Lou Davis and husband Johnny of Orange, TX, Nora Jane Abshire of Orange, TX and Mary Lillian Banaszak and husband Norbert of Harrison, AR. One son, James Whitney Abshire and wife Sandra of Orange, TX and one sister Edna Mae Seilhan. Eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and thirteen great great grandchildren.
