Orange County Radio Control Club held a special fly-in on Saturday benefit Toys for Tots. Chad Porterfield, left, and his sister, Joy Drouillard, with Toys for Tots, helped collect the new toys donated during the event. A new toy was the ‘landing fee’ at the airfield. Mike Ochs, Porterfield and Drouillard’s father, is regional president for Toys for Tots. The organization had eight toy drives to collect on Saturday and expecting 30 more between now and the cut-off day in order to deliver all the toys in time for Christmas morning. Toys for Tots helped 1,200 foster children, 468 children and 190 families in the area last year.

“It was an amazing year last year,” Drouillard said. “Toys for Tots standard is two toys per child and we were able to give three toys a piece.”
