Special to The Leader
Ed Johnston and Hunter Johnston share a hug during Community Christian School’s See You At The Pole/Grandparents’ Day, which was their biggest turnout to date. Students, teachers, parents, and grandparents united together in prayer, which then kicked off Grandparents’ Day. The 7th – 12thgrade students enjoyed breakfast with their grandparents and elementary students presented their grandparents with handcrafted gifts. To top it all off, the Grandparents’ Day program was so precious with kindergarten student, Kenli Vacek, opening the program with prayer, a performance by our worship team, and a moving message from grandparent and athletic/spiritual director, Darla Brack. The hit of the program was the interviews of several kindergarten, first, and second grade students. First grade student, Josiah Smith’s, reply when asked what he would do when he is a grandparent was, “I will give all of my grandkids lollipops so they will leave me alone because I will be old.”
