Vidor Runners and Walkers

Vidor Runners and Walkers meet at 5:30 p.m., every Tuesday, at Claiborne West Park. Runners and walkers of every age and level are invited.

Legislative update

The Orange County Republican Party will be hosting a Legislative Update from our State Senator Robert Nichols at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 27 at the Raymond Gould Community Center, 385 Claiborne in Vidor. Come join us and hear what took place in Austin during legislative session.

Scrapbooking

The Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2523, located at 803 N. 28th St. in Orange is offering free scrapbook classes at 4 p.m., each Tuesday. The community is invited to come join in. For more information contact Sharon Bodin at 409-735-8662 or 409-719-7793.

Blood drive

Orange Savings Bank, 812 N. 16th St. in Orange, and LifeShare Blood Centers will hold a blood drive from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 29 in the LifeShare buss in front of the bank. Photo ID required.

BC-Orangefield Rotary

The Bridge City-Orangefield Rotary Club meets at noon, every Thursday, at the Bridge City Community Center.

Pool Tournament

VFW Post 8246, 2110 S. Main in Vidor, invites the public to its weekly pool tournament every Friday night. Ages 21 and older only. Call 409-768-1482 for info.

The Fraternal Order of Eagles. Aerie 2523, located at 803 N. 28th Street, Orange, Texas host a pool tournament each Friday beginning at 8 p.m. The community is invited to come meet the members of Aerie 2523 and join in the fun. For more information leave a message after 4 p.m. at 409-886-7381.

Book signing

Arlon Davis, author of “The Texas Man,” will hold a book signing from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 31, at Baskin’s department store, 850 N. Main St. in Vidor. The public is invited.

Senior Citizen Passes

Dr. Stephen Patterson, Orangefield ISD superintendent, announces Senior Citizen Passes are available to those who are residents Orangefield ISD and age 60 or older. These passes entitle senior citizens to free admission to home activities and events sponsored by OISD. Visit the superintendent’s office between 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Proof of age and residence is required.
