VIDOR — Super Stop #2/ In and Out, 100 West Freeway, Orange, received an 87 out of a possible 100 during a recent health code and compliance inspection. The store had demerits for the need of the store name and address on all bags of ice sold, chemicals being stored above pet foods and for not having a required dish sink for washing dishes and slime inside the ice machine.

Sausage, boudin and eggs found at unsafe temperatures lead to Happy Donuts, 495 South Main Street, Vidor, to receive a 92 during a recent inspection.

Market Basket #4, 3709 North 16th Street, Orange, received a health score of 94 for in need of towels at the hand-washing station in the meat department, and several areas in need of cleaning such as the floors inside the walk-in coolers in the meat and produce departments.

Market Basket #4 Deli, 3709 North 16th Street, Orange, received a score of 97 for the need to clean the inside of the oven of old foods.

Avila’s Mexican Restaurant, 2615 Western Ave., West Orange, received a 94 during a recent inspection for the need to date and label all foods in the coolers and freezers and to cover all the foods inside the freezer.

West Orange Elementary School, 2605 MLK Drive, Orange, received a 94 during a recent inspection for a live roaches found by the steamers. The health report noted the director of food services for the district is providing the last few treatments from a pest company.

“The school is aware of the situation and addressing the issue,” Orange County Health Code and Compliance Inspector James Scales said. “The district also uses a private company for food services. They are using a new company this year and in the process of acquiring the required Certified Food Manager certificate.”

West Orange High School, 1400 Newton Street, Orange, had several dead roaches according to a recent health report leading to a score of 97. The health report notes that prior to inspection, exterminators were called out and corrective measures have been put in place.

Hampton Inn Orange, 2080 Interstate 10 West, Orange, received a 97 during a recent inspection and was given 30 days to have certification for a certified Food Manager on staff.

PK’s Grill, 1627 Strickland Drive, Orange, received a 97 for the need to clean the walls in the kitchen and the walls at the three compartment sink.
