Rock the River revs up next month in Orange; see the details

Soak up some fun in the sun as the Rock the River and Deep South Racing Association Boat Races return to Orange in 2024, organizers share.

Attendees can rev up their engines May 3 – 5, when Explore Orange and Deep South host Rock the River and DSRA Boat Races at the Riverside Pavilion and City of Orange Boat Ramp on the Sabine River.

Drag boat racers will exhibit their skills in a series of adrenaline-pumping races to the finish line.

Rock to the rhythm of live music and delicious treats from a variety of food vendors while the children enjoy activities offered throughout the day.

Schedule of Events:

• Friday, May 3, 5 p.m.: Gates open – Food vendors

7:30 to 9:30 pm: Live music with Keith Frank

• Saturday, May 4, 10 a.m.: Gates open – DSRA Boat Races, food vendors, kid zone

2 p.m.: Live music: The Flip Flop Man

3:30 to 4:30 pm: The Pegwinders

5 to 6 p.m.: Jamie Talbert

6:30 to 8 p.m.: Velcro Pygmies

• Sunday, May 5, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: DSRA Boat Races, food vendors, kid zone

“Rock the River and DSRA Boat Races have something for everyone, with a summer concert, drag boat races, tasty food and family-friendly activities, making for a perfect weekend by the water,” a City of Orange release stated.
