Tennison Tournament all set in Orangefield

ORANGEFIELD — Orangefield High School will be busy Thursday through Saturday as the Lady Bobcats will play host to the Bill Tennison Memorial Basketball Tournament.

There will be 14 teams in the tounament including the Lady Bobcats, Silsbee, Port Neches-Groves, HCYA, West Orange-Stark, Kountze, Bridge City, Tarkington, Evadale, Kirbyville, Dayton, Little Cypress-Mauriceville, East Chambers and Beaumont Ozen.

Pool A will consist of Orangefield, Silsbee and PN-G. Pool B will have HCYA, WO-S and Kountze. Pool C has Bridge City, Tarkington, Evadale and Kirbyville. Pool D will have Dayton, LC-M, East Chambers and Ozen.

Teams will play a guaranteed total of 5 games (with the exception of Orangefield and HCYA).

The first eight games of the day will be cross-pool warm-up games that do not count towards seeding for  the bracket play. Beginning at 2 p.m. on Thursday, the first round of pool play will take place with pools C and D. Each Varsity team will play two games Thursday, two games Friday, and a guaranteed with a possible second in the title game on Saturday.

Games Thursday at the new gym at the high school includes PN-G vs. WO-S (8 a.m.); Kirbyville vs. Ozen (9:30 a.m.); LC-M vs. Tarkington (11 a.m.); PN-G vs. Kountze (12:30 p.m.); Bridge City vs. Kirbyville (2 p.m.); Tarkington vs. Evadale (3:30 p.m.); and Dayton vs. LC-M (5 p.m.).

Games Thursday at the old gym at the high school includes Bridge City vs. East Chambers (8 a.m.); Silsbee vs. Kountze (9:30 a.m.); Evadale vs. Dayton (11 a.m.); Silsbee vs. WO-S (12:30 p.m.) and East Chambers vs. Ozen (2 p.m.).

Games Friday at the new gym will consist of Orangefield vs. Silsbee (8 a.m.); HCYA vs. WO-S (9:30 a.m.); Bridge City vs. Tarkington (11 a.m.); LC-M vs. Ozen (12:30 p.m.); Silsbee vs. PN-G (2 p.m.); HCYA vs. Kountze (3:30 p.m.); and Orangefield vs. PN-G (8 P.M.).

Games Friday at the old gym includes LC-M vs. East Chambers (8 a.m.); Dayton vs. Ozen (9:30 a.m.); Evadale vs. Kirbyville (11 a.m.); Dayton vs. East Chambers (12:30 p.m.); Bridge City vs. Evadale (2 p.m.); Tarkington vs. Kirbyville (6:30 p.m.); and Kountze vs. WO-S (8 p.m.).

The championship game will be at 5 p.m. Saturday.
