The Vidor Public Library Summer Reading Program was held June 17, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Parish Hall. Special guests were Sargent Aleta Cappen with the Vidor Police Department, Fire Chief Brian Champaign (at left) and Assistant Fire Chief Robert Smith (at right) with Orange County Emergency Services District 1. Sargent Aleta Cappen read “Officer Buckle and Gloria” by Peggy Rathmann and Fire Chief Brian Champaign read “Curious George and the Firefighters” by Margret Rey. Assistant Fire Chief Robert Smith demonstrated how fire fighter’s put on their fire gear. Our next Summer Reading program is June 24, 2015 from 10am to 11am with guest Sean Ardoin from Young Audiences of Southeast Texas. For more information call the library at 409-769-7148.
