Lois Marie Marks

Lois Marie Marks, 89 of Orange, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016.  In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated.  There will be a memorial service held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Orange, Texas at 1:00pm, Thursday, November 10, 2016 with the interment of ashes following at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Lois was born May 1, 1927 in Orange, Texas.  She was raised in Beaumont, Texas.  She married Percy Marks on February 12, 1946 in Orange, Texas where they would reside.  Lois was one of a kind.  Her sense of humor, and her getting things done quickly, her daily face make up to begin her day, her dedication to getting that walk in for 45 minutes every day!  She never turned down a cup of coffee, loved cooking her famous gumbo, went to Mass on Saturday evenings, and loved going fishing.  Her laugh will never be forgotten and she will be dearly missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Percy Marks; daughter, Anna Marks; parents, Alexander Perry and Nettie Eva Hemmenway; and brother, Carl Wolfford.

ois is survived by her sons, Tee Joe Marks and wife Judy of Gause, Texas and Robert “Bob” Marks of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Traci Harbour, Brandon Marks and Derek Marks all of The Woodlands, Ester Marks of Seattle, Washington and Ian Marks of Austin, Texas; great grandchildren, Barrett, Logan, Collin, Dylan, Cody and Haley; and brother Freddie Mitchell.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Mary’s Catholic School Foundation at 912 West Cherry, Orange, Texas 77630 or to the St. Mary’s Cemetery at 4320 Meeks Drive, Orange, Texas 77630.
